All systems go for this one .Not a certain coastal crossing though .Timing and strenght of ridge and how the trough develops in a few days being the X factors. Tropical Cyclone Outlook for the Western Region Issued at 2:00 pm WST on Tuesday 19 Marc

Was near Rocky Airport probably just over an hour and a half ago, was really warm outside but big storm clouds nearby Feels like we might get something in Yeppoon, keeping a close eye on the radar.

GFS-FV3 00Z indicating a temporary stall on the cape exit crossing.. with entry proper into GOC delayed to +72hrs..... but then again it is the FV3 model HWRF 00Z no stall - ploughing through to GOC in +51 hours. EC 00z into GOC less than 48 hours.

Aurukun looks set to endure a long period of sustained winds given the cyclone will pass just to the north of the community and re-intensify on its doorstep.

Be interesting to see how it tracks after going into the GoC. If it takes a more WSW track it could end up crossing around Booraloora. It will depend on the ridging I guess.

00z GFS thinks a very intense TC. A very cold tropopause temperature is the likely reason for such intensification with these current modelled storms here and the GOC.

Seems a slight-to-modest chance of precipitation starting around the last week of March, for the SA Central District . Edit: Also a moderately high chance of flood / flash-flooding near / around Weipa QLD, in the next 3 days.
