The snow is now about 1-2cm deep in the Oberon township area. The snow has been none stop for about 30mins.

Nice to see the Water Vapour coming up from the SE is strong.

Looking at the radar, could Oberon get continious snow for the next few hours? I don't have access to my regular data maps to check this out for myself. Really this event has caught me off gaurd and I havn't looked at any maps in detail over tha past few days.

Looks like the showers are staying together better than usual as they approach Katoomba, they could be in for some fairly intense sleet there. The cold uppers seem to be keeping the showers alive, aided by better moisture with this system.

My only concern is that the best showers might keep streaming a bit south of the upper BM, the sat loop is suggesting that as a possibility.

Temp now 3.0 with persistent white flakeage in the precip but never turning to 100% snow. Heaviest of the precip gone so white bits will prob desert me too.

Well, what a sneaky little system! Just speaking to a friend in Black Mountain who said it has just started to drizzly rain with "sago snow" mixed in.
Also reports that it is snowing in Walcha and Hanging Rock.
I'm going home to get some more wood under cover!

Still only 3 degrees in Bx precip light so no whiteage now. Gee we were sooo close for quite a while there just got flakeage but not full snow. Lucky there's no real wind or it would be VERY cold indeed.

Everything missing Blackheath so far, which isn't unusual from this direction. Katoomba looks to be getting light precip.

Beggars can't be choosers though, I've had my turn this year. Still a chance of something here.

The upper feature is moving NE though, along with the cold 850hPa temps, so I don't think it will persist for too long.

That's the on paper reflections, real-time might be better. C'mon you bloody showers, reach me!

The inner three year old is not far away raftcrew. He only comes out once the 45 year old science-head starts seeing the flakes. Instability is enhancing now for Katoomba - take an early mark aslaws, you deserve it.

Well it's still snowing in Oberon, has been non-stop for the last 90mins. Flakes range from pea sized to 50cent sized flakes during the heavy showers. I am waiting for that big blob to hit us in the next 10-20mins.
The ground temp is still too warm as it is still settling but melting slowly underneath.

Still 1-2cm though.

Looks like the Angels are having a pillow fight, nice big flakes now again.

PS: Anyone heard from Snowmi lately?

Temp risen to 3.8 but precip getting heavier again as this band comes through. Gee Blizz you have to get something out of this!!

Radar shows it very close to you. Take a drive to Boyce - highest spot GWH (in BM's)

Theres been a train of heavy showers going through Trickett area for ages - should be good up there.

Its fascinating how it can miss us from this direction. We are getting cold rain and a bit of sleet with some soggy big flakes now and then but that's all at present. Looks like Mt Boyce AWS is down again...

Bit more sleet now with some big flakes but no snow yet...

Correction, its really snowing now, then back to heavy wet sleety stuff though with little chance of settling.
