Well I have taken a few lightning shots this year and most failed. This one was the best I could manage taken in a thunderstorm back in February.

So I was wondering - what are your best lightning shots ever?

Well, yeah, no contest really for me!

However, you are one up on me regarding daytime lightning pics! Need to invest in a lightning trigger.

Yeah, actually I cheat. blush I just use the video on my camera and capture the frame because I don't have a decent DSLR yet. Hoping to get a Canon soon. smile

I had a hard enough time deciding which shots to submit for the calendar, let alone picking a single image ... shocked

Very nice ones there, Brad and Kane. smile

I can't compete with the photos above but I like this one-

Probably the most impressive lightning I have even seen that day. I had numerous bolts come down within probably only a couple of hundred metres. These were big pulsing bolts as well, I could fell the vibrations though the car floor. Unfortunately, this photo was taken through a wet car window hence the blurred image.

Wow! shocked You guys make my shot look like crap, probably because it was taken on a crappy camera. smile
And Kane, awesome postive strike there. Don't think I've ever witnessed one like that before.

Found a photo editing program on my computer today, so played around with my shot, editing contrast and stuff and I'm fairly pleased with the edited version.

I may have increased it a bit too much though. smile

I had a few up there on the lightning trigger thread, but these are probably mine:

Last week:

(No tripod!)

Earlier in the year from my house (reflection from shooting through the kitchen door)

Way too bright.

So I turned it down

These are not my best shots but they were 2 of the more rememberable bolts I have captured for the mere fact they just about blew my eardrums out and knocked every ones socks off.

Just the enormity of the 1st one is mind blowing, the amount of energy that was present is frightening.

Cheers

Colin
