Been between $12 and $14.00 a kilo for the past 4 months or more. What gets my goat is the bloody things get trucked passed me in Townsville - end up in the markets is Brisbane or Sydney and then get bloody trucked back again. It's even worse when they flood the market with W.A. bananas from around the Ord and flog them at $2 to $3.00 a kilo less than what we can buy 'locally' grow.

Windy again tonight. gave up working in my shed - the saw dust is killing me.

Re high wind gust 2 days ago, I am on the edge of the Town Common and at this time of year with much of it burnt out, dust devils are common, so one must have come in across my WS.

Max 25.6, Min 15.3, 24 hour rain - nil...

Ah right, that makes sense.

RIP to those US and Afghan troops killed the other night, what a tragedy.

Afternoon all! Busy day at work today - on the way home drove past what looked like a major back-burning operation going on along Herveys Range Road.

Amazingly we had 0.3mm of rain overnight! First bit of rain for quite a while smile

I can't wait to hear the sound of rain pelting down on the roof and the chorus of frogs at night. Hoping that the majority of models are on track - all signs pointing to neutral ENSO through to about December and a weaker La Nina developing during our summer. Would be nice to get a 'normal' Wet with loads of monsoonal rain and a cyclone or three.

My kamakazi green tree frog was back again last night he had managed to get into the family room this time. This time much skinnier than before and decidedly crook. Gave him a quick bath in barely lukewarm water and tried to feed him a couple of moths but he didn't last the night out and was found as an ex frog this morning under the bush I put him in last night. Mr kookaburra had him for breakfast. At least he won't be appearing in my bathroom again.

Went for a wander down to the shops at Gollogolly's Lane for a haircut and once again found another snake on the footpath. Big brown bastard, not too sure what variety - looked like a King Brown about 1.5metres long - pretty agro too. He came out of a yard with a couple of dogs near 1015 and headed straight across the road dodging the traffic and was last seen heading for the river bank.

Oh well, ended up getting rid of my winter pelt, had a walk in the sunshine and had the heart rate boosted by yet another snake encounter so not a bad mornings effort. I am staying inside now- too much excitement for one day. Thats 3 snakes in 3 days.

Sounds like it is much safer inside SBT. Haven't spotted any snakes on my daily walks on the bike track yet but will keep a careful lookout. Poor little frog frown There was something burning late last night that smelt absolutely terrible. Had to actually get up and close my windows the smell was that bad.
