Fab shot Rikki; you've really captured what Winter is in the southern inland and representative of just about anywhere in the Murray-Darling.

Hinzey, that sunset is insane.... geeze, talk about colour. We can struggle here in Canberra at times due to the mountains, but at least i have more of an opportunity during daylight saving to get out after work.... been pulling my hair out in the off season!

And nice work Rikki, as always......love to shoot there myself!

Okay, so it's been ages since i've posted anything here, been just so damn busy over the past few months. Here's few of my favs from the limited time that i've had to get out with my camera.

All shot with 5dmk2, 17mm TSE, shots 1, 4 & 5 i used grads to balance exposure for foreground and sky, F stops on all of these around f16, and ISo ranging from 50 to 200, tripod for all shots.

Stunning as usual Greg!

I really have to pull my finger out and get back into it all; it's just been too long. I'm hoping to get some nice sky-scapes with the change next week and with the canola in such vivid flower it should prove quite enjoyable.

Just did one of my very first HDR's tonight. Originally the moon was in the frame, but by the time I got the shots right, the clouds had moved over. Kind of cool though, it gives the clouds some depth smile . Sorta shows how bad the light pollution really is.

Cheers,
Dan

Greg, that last shot is awesome man! And Things - love the way the grass has been captured on that photo - you have some terrible light pollution though.

Greg, all those pics are fantastic! I especially love the first, third, and fifth images... good job mate, as always! smile

Things, great shot there, yes I agree the light pollution issue can be a problem, but it can also work to your advantage when photographing clouds after dark smile

Wowzers Greg!! you need to get out more ;o) First and last shot are just shear brilliant!!! That first shot is what Sandfly's similar shot lacks to make it top notch.. A little bit of color in the sky makes all the difference.

I like the grass in my shot as well, it's very contrasting smile

The light pollution isn't really obvious until you do long exposures like that. I think that was around 4 to 8 seconds (A few different speeds, since it's HDR).

the light through the clouds was due to the moon, it was really bright. I'd had hoped to invlude it in the HDR image, but the clouds moved over too quickly.

Was plenty of coldies around the place this arvo, but this was the best one. I played around with the contrast a bit to bring up more detail, I'd like to do HDR shots eventually. smile

a few more from today, not as good as yesterday though because of a fair bit of low level moisture streaming in from the ocean but the smoke wasn't as thick so i actually got to saw the blood red sun! grin all shots taken from Seaworld on the Gold Coast....
