That line(lion) to WNW to SW to S is looking great, and moving slowly over our way...Good nocturnal convection going, good NW entrance region aloft, good jetstream, good moisture, good instability, good upper trough, moisture feeding in from NW storm convection region of this arvo. It's lookin' good for lightning-thunder and rain of some reasonably good decency in southern SA for a change!

That'd be awesome Ian, just not over the house. Rick, that sunset's a beauty... indicative of the day I think.

It's going to take a very very long time to get here which I doubt it will.
Best chance would be to drive somewhere and get as close as possible unless you wanna do an all-nighter.

Line certainly kicked up to north and now thunder and cells firing to my NW as well now, as well as SW/W, stiff southerly breeze here as line is approaching, almost over land but not quiet yet about 15km to my west not big cells , but looks like it will go through quickly in next 1/2 hour or so, with plenty of strikes, hopefully not hot enough for any serious fire activity. good viewing everyone!

Trying to decide what to do..... Favouring driving down the metro coast somewhere....
The other option if that line stands up even further north, is to stay this side of the city and keep in front of it as it moves east.... (although that could be an all-nighter lol)
