It will develop rapidly ahead of whats visible right now seaworthy, you wont have to drive far at all if you live in Adelaide

Nocturnal convection kicking in well and line extending NW into moisture and cloud coming down from NW convection of the afternoon and evening...good signs there! Still a way off, but with upper jet and upper trough and nocturnal convection should keep going all night and get here(Adelaide & hills area)around 12.30 to 1.30pm approx I'd reckon at current rate.

(You got hay down or something Helen...why not over your house?)

Yeah got my fingers toes and everything you can think of crossed.

I'm going to fire up the Percolator. That long lightning sausage seems to be creeping towards us, kind of.

Just make a lightning trigger - buy a flash remote from ebay for $10 and wire it to a shutter release cable.

http://justinview.com.au/2011/08/cheap-canon-dslr-optical-trigger/

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wireless-Flas...=item25652d7958

Made mine a few weeks ago and can't wait to try it (Couldn't pull apart the unit so soldered directly to the contacts at top - easy).

If it works I'll be amazed (shutter does release when a flash let off some distance away in daylight!!!)

Hmmmm .... 'lightning sausage'. Is that a meteorological term Chris? smile

Don't know if I'll be lucky enough to score anything up this way but the radar over the last hour has given me renewed hope. Would have been a great time to visit my rellies in Elliston. Would be quite a show!

Happy birthday to ya kgb! Nice pic smile

Is the rain currently in SA going to move into central australia/Western NSW or into Victoria? I'd imagine the rain around the border is the one going to VIC. I swear this is the longest line I've ever seen in around 5 years.
All the way from Streaky bay to the edge of Tassie

Sea fog came in early evening, making conditions cool/damp. Haven't noticed any lightning from that impressive line.

Interesting concept
I bought my AEO trigger from the US seems to work great
It went ballistic in Darwin during a afternoon flang fest!!
If this event makes it up the gulf I'll try both cable and trigger
Just hurry the f...up!!
