Number of strikes seems to be dropping in the last 20 minutes or so. Hopefully it finds some more fuel and surges back up.

A bit of reassurance from thunderstruck would come in handy right about now grin

Time to disconnect the HF Antenna and unplug unnecessary appliances - could be intense later tonight

Thanks for the reminder, my HF antenna would make a good lightening rod, anyway I'm off to bed for a while after a big day at Blewitt Springs.

Hopefully it all holds together long enough to get across the gulf and I get woken up to the sound of thunder, looking good at the moment.

Sitting down at glenelg watching the lighting go crazy while my drunken partner and friends go swimming haha. Nights like this that remind me why I love adelaide poke storms on the horizon but still warm enough for a swim poke

GRRR at wind increasing! Its bad for tripod if it gets too windy. It will shake it slightly even if I take lightning pic result in blurry. I have good quality Manfrotto tripod, quite heavy but that rapid increasing in wind is a bad timing though. Ah well. I hope wind die down before storm get closer.

If your tripod has a hook in the middle maybe try hanging a heavy camera bag from there to stabilize. You could try a higher ISO also maybe? *shrug* I'm a very beginner photographer....I bet ol' hillsrain has shot in some windy conditions in his time.

edit - gustin' fierce all of a sudden. Eleven hours forty six minutes...mark.

Not looking that good at the moment, has become a little less organised as it was earlier.... some areas dying off and becoming less active... hope they kick on a bit otherwise it's bedtime!

I wouldn't bother going south now, stay north for anyone who lives N. Southern stuff I feel will tend to a bit of a rainband, patchy in nature with the odd strike, fresher cleaner cells shoulf fire up on the top edge of the band across the Spencer and YP and then head in towards the burbs.

Very unstable through the mids, and sensational convergence keeping this line going with assistance form jet aloft and the classic nocturnal cooling.

Great image Azza, that is one seriously high base, looks like nothing and then a CG!

TS cool
