I like to know Hurricane Katia looks like Hurricane katrina the last few season ago or just a bit of add as well Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi this year who is with me on that one or not?

At this stage it is unlikely that Katia will cause any great concern for wind damage, with only the potential for heavy rain at times with the outer bands bringing the chance of flooding in saturated areas. Raised sea levels will also cause some concern for vessels and low lying areas.
NOAA plots it's course to remain away from the coast - veering off to the NE into cooler water temps - so it should downgrade from a cat3 to rain depression in no time.

Looks like the remains of Hurricane Katia will have an impact here in the UK.

The met office have issued this alert for Monday.

Quote:
The remains of Hurricane Katia are expected to come across the UK on Monday bringing a spell of very windy weather. There remains a fair amount of uncertainty about its track and intensity, and warning areas may be extended or upgraded to amber in subsequent issues, but the best estimate currently is that northern and western parts of the UK are most at risk from very strong winds. The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to transport and of the possibility of damage to trees and structures.

Nate has crossed into Mexico (Nate had constant entrainment of dry air and moderate shear so didn't develop into anything much and didn't dump much rain either), he was one of the worst looking cyclones of the year. Maria also looks unlikely to affect the eastern USA due to a trough on the eastern seaboard and may just make it a little windy near Bermuda. Otherwise the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico looks set to come under the stabilising influence of strong ridging, so we should see a week or maybe even two of pretty uneventful weather (maybe a weak LOW around Gulf Of Mexico 8 - 10 days time). Pretty slack for peak hurrican season time frown
