New Zealand have done well and look like posting a half decent score after being 5 for 98 currently 8 for 268.
I bet Michael Clarke wished he had of taken that catch yesterday, its proven to be an expensive wicket.

295 in the end, but still below par. A lot of the Kiwis got themselves out though, better opposition would have had us in trouble. Lets just hope our batting turns up today.

totally stupid to have a change of innings 10minutes before the lunch break. why not take the lunch with the innings change? what a ridiculous situation for the batsman to have to come in and face with 2 overs before lunch. each team should be given an even chance to start an innings and the aussies were on back foot at that stage.
mind you it was a stupid, stupid shot from warner. but after his dismal they then decided to take the lunch break 5min early. the mind boggles.

Ouch.. Hughes out, and Australia looking shaky on 25/2.... I thought our (the kiwis) start to their innings was bad, but Australia just have to outdo us don't they wink

Agree re lunch break - stupid decision and very unfair to Australia

It's part of the game I'm afraid, Lunch is an 'immovable feast' as Jim Maxwell always says. If it was the Kiwis on the receiving end, I daresay those grapes would be tasting a little sweeter. Yeah, it's a quirky and sometimes illogical rule but cricket has more than its fair share of these.

Hahaha have to love the cric info commentary...

"Knock knock, Hughes there? No he's out just after lunch!"

I'm feeling quietly confident... I think the Kiwis might be able to get in , rattle the Aussies a few more times and then have a stunning second innings... and win!!!

No idea. I didn't understood why lunch break went too late? Came on at 1:30pm and its still 'cricket' show. Isn't me or the broadcast delayed by 13minutes?

Possible, but highly unlikely.
There are 3 session of cricket at 2 hours a session

Traditionally cricket starts at 11am - 1pm 40 mins for lunch 1.40pm to 3.40pm Tea, 4pm - 6pm Stumps. One hour earlier in Qld because of DLS

Play can start earlier & finish later for rain/light delays

Well the Aussies are well and truly bossing this game. Lets hope they finish the Kiwis off today as there could be some more dodgy weather in Brisbane tomorrow looking at the satpic.

I expect the Kiwis to be a little more competitive in Hobart (after all, it's like playing at home).

I'm looking forward to when Shane Watson comes back so we can see the end of Phillip Hughes forever. Seriously, he is a joke of a batsman. It's almost a comedy act how he consistently goes out slashing or misplaying wide balls, usually in the first 5 overs and for under 10-15 runs. He should be dropped never to play test cricket again now that we have players like Khawaja and even Warner who are making their mark.

BTW, another impressive win from Australia, although it could be argued that it was more the feeble opposition than anything spectacular from us. It was a solid performance but there is still work to do if we want to elevate to the top of the world test rankings again. I believe we are very much on the right track though. I'm loving the new fast bowling attack. I'd take Pattinson over Johnson any day.

The 2nd test on Friday please take Hughes out to become Watson. Don't interchange Warner! Hes great batsman!
