Yes David, it all looks primed again. These troughs/fronts are becoming weekly events. I love it. Could see another 50-75 mm's for Sydney. I haven't had to water for weeks now. Homer

My impression of the models seem to be having the bulk of rain further west of Bx, given that's prime wheat belt country I suspect not many people out there will be happy. But with these sort of events it's hard to predict who will or won't get solid falls. In the last event, Monday the official Bx rain was 2 or 3 mm whilst at the airport (the other side of town) it was about 20mm. Imagine trying to forecast that.

It's nice to see the official models coming on board. I have been eyeing our warm-up plus the moisture as meaning nice storms. plenty of moist easterly air over us by now, it's been blowing for days. Add warmer temperatures and some useful instability arriving from the west, and we should have some worthwhile weather.
Rain would be good too, we just haven't had as much as some areas, any fine day you can see dust going up.

See a similar band of storms/showers over the Namadgi/Brindies area to yesterday, slowly marching towards Canberra. Prob stop over the ranges too like yesterday. Sky here gone all moderately puffy. Trying to pretend it's gunna grow into storm cells - but I'm not convinced.

That SW line yesterday that petered out to nothing was just practising, today it is coming in for sure. All the horizon south of CBR airport is a curtain of white. We didn't get much heating today, at all, so shall rely on the instability but I suspect it'll be mainly wetness.
Current stuff seems to be approaching up the Murrumbidgee/Monaro valley, from my seat here I can see Gingera and Franklin very clearly, but the hills of Jerra and Burra are obliterated.

Very very light rain started up about 1/2 an hour ago... we got some warming this afternoon, and humidity, but I'm not sure that line will have power when it gets to us. Hope it does, a flash-bang opera would be nice tonight.
Meanwhile Opticast is going bananas saying we'll have rain (not showers) all tonight. It would be nice if it was right, but I can't see it.

BOM saying the same for tonight but not so tomorrow. radar looking a little rubbish atm, I must say. I'd rather you get the rain you want ant, unless today has been a spray day. Homer

Had a solid burst of rain about 6 am this morning in Bathurst - no real sparkage. I thought we'd get some yesterday evening the way it was looking but nothing really happened apart from a couple of light spitty events. Looks black to our west and is quite dark here atm but radar not showing much (although radar pretty ordinary for much west of here.

No storms, pretty-much as expected. Had showers on and off in the evening and at times through the night, but it really got going early this morning. You can see it clearing off over the coast on the radar. It's actually still going here, really quite heavy at times.

I am not particularly excited about today. I strikes me as more of a thundery rain kind of day than a true storm day. Sun is starting to shine here (Kiama) but another band of light rain is approaching. Bit depressing really, maybe too early to dismiss just yet but I don't like what I see. Saturated mid/upper levels, poor mid-level lapse rates, more than likely sub-1000 J/kg CAPE.

Edit: I am talking about the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Tablelands. I think further north west of the ranges is looking much better.
