[quote=ColdFront] BoM finally acknowledged the second centre in the GoC that was clearly there yesterday but not marked on their charts. If convection and the lightning tracker are any indication this could end up a deeper system than the models are currently forecasting.

Windshear is ridiculous just to it's nth though at the moment.

Hi all - a brief de-cloak for a virgin post from Mount Isa, as I have a question: it appears to me that the GOC low, that was advancing quickly on the Cape late yesterday, seems to have regrouped further sw in the GOC overnight - does anyone else see this trend, or is it just that my low bandwidth is causing this to appear apparent...
I was interested to see the above post from ColdFront, about a second monsoon low not previously mentioned by BOM. We had a big storm come thru the Isa last night - not much rain in it though.... I will be watching with interest, as always...
Thanks all for your invaluable knowledge and info - keeps me glued to this forum - will now re-enter lurk mode smile

Nice to have you aboard. Don't lurk for too long as Mt Isa info is very interesting to us guys and gals on the coast.

Yesterday there was a ring of thunderstorms just to the east of where BoM have the low centred now so I doubt it has moved much at all in the past 16 hours or so.

Here's the shear map. BoM have the low centred pretty much over Mornington Island.

I am it 264.8mm for the month. Well below average but my davis records rainfall midnight to midnight so I only need 120mm before midnight for the airport average I think? grin

Acess ,EC and CMC all have the low not really featuring much before Wednesday on the Cape and all now move it quickly away to the sth east. Not the slow crawl across the cape they showed yesterday. No doubt dragging the rain with it as they do.

BoM's model has the slowest move which would still see a couple of days of good falls locally should it come off.

I do hope your staying locally CF, has been good having your input here mate!

340.5mm for the month here at Yorkeys Knob. Are we still going to get the rain they forecast? IF so, when?

Thanks Pac. We're only moving 2 kilometres. Just waiting for the contract to go unconditional. We're staying in White Rock, just in a better location.

Speaking of White Rock there is a nice scud building as it heads this way from the sth east. Keep coming baby!
