we were lucky to have what we had for january, most falling in 3-4 days, otherwise very crappy january for us up here, nearly every storm went around us, even sure some went over us lifting its rain to not trip over us :-)Hopefully something decent this month, humidity is killing me, something has to give........

Mine does too mscactus. But i use it for rainfall rates only and have my trusty Nylex for daily totals.

So my suggestion is to get a very inexpensive nylex (all of around $14.00) stick it on a post and use that as main measuring device.
