Question for folks in the Port Hedland area:I reviewed the
radar loop carefully, and it seems Heidi had an outer eyewall and a
very small inner eyewall. It looks like the outer eyewall passed over Port Hedland, but the inner eyewall passed a few kilometers E of the Airport. Given this, I'm wondering if winds were stronger in this area.
Heidi's 5:00 am center position was 20.4S 118.7E. When I zoom in (using Google Maps), I see there's a settlement or facility there, with some buildings and trees. It's at the intersection of Great Northern Highway and Port Hedland-Wittenoom Road, about 6 kilometers E of the Airport.
***QUESTION: Has anyone been out that way since the cyclone? If so, was the wind damage heavier there? Since the inner-eyewall feature passed over this area, I think there's a good chance winds were a little stronger there.
Any insights you can share would be greatly appreciated. (If I was there in Port Hedland, I'd just drive out there myself, of course.

)
Thanks!
