Can someone update the thread title.
Areas east of Karratha should see some good rain today, hoping to see some of that moisture to the north get drawn down too. Going to be an interesting day, still going for a Dampier crossing, realistically prob further east but here's hoping! The ridge setup to the south looks ok ATM, at least she doesn't look like being sucked across to Melbourne right now....

Yep due to very dry air west of the LOW/TC. As it weakens and likely moves to the west, that rain will spread further west with it, but should always remain primarily east of the LLCC. For those with facebook access I have just posted a couple of images of the high res EC model for 1AM WST tonight one showing 3hr rainfall figures and the other showing wind speeds (surface sustained).

Well to all those Critics who doubted it would make it to Cyclone status, what can i say?
Better say nothing.

But cause there was wind shear in the area where it was yesterday it was only Low to Moderate. didn't meant it wasn't going to form.

The forecast Track however is going to kill her as she approaches the Coast line as wind shear is stronger on the coast 20 - 30 kts
But that's great hopefully no casualty's will come out of it & we here in the Nor West will Luv the Weather this one will bring us without the Death & destruction Plus a day off, which is a BIG plus.

Hi guys just wondering if anyone has an update on whether the Port is closed, are some of the mines planning to shut down?

How do the alerts work, does everything shut down for a blue alert and what about yellow?

Thanks

Ships have left the port here in Hedland....

It depends on the different work sites as to when things shut down, we start tying down non-production equipment on a blue alert although when it appears that we are going to go to Yellow alert we start tying down production equipment as well, as we have done this morning.
