I got a weather station for christmas that wouldn't work so mum and my aunty took it back and got me a LA CROSSE WS1913IT ... I need some help and hoping someone can answer my question ..

the little icon for the outside temp keeps flashing - should it be doing that ? .. I've moved the base station to the verandah and moved the transmitter and wind reader down stairs in the past 1/2 an hour and the icon is still flashing ..

Found the bit in manual that may be relevant -

The temperature display can be selected to show temperature data in F or C. (Default F)
1. The temperature unit is flashing
2. Use the + or MIN/MAX key to toggle between F or C.
3. Confirm with the SET key and enter the WIND SPEED UNIT SETTING

It looks like it is waiting for you to hit set after deciding if you want C or F, then it looks like it goes through a few of the others flashing for you to set it, this is on page 8 of manual

Temp overestimates, wind broken, so only rainfall really recording

After batteries are installed, there will be synchronization between Weather Center and the
transmitters. At this time, the signal reception icon will be blinking. When the signal is successfully received by the Weather Center, the icon will be switched on (If it is not successful, the icon will not be shown).

 The short blinking of the icon shows that a reception is in progress.

So what I am seeing or have is "the short blinking of the icon show's that a reception is in progress" .. this is where I am confused - does this mean that it's receiving data, or that it's trying to receive the data ???? lol

What they are talking about there is the wireless icon the .))) one (Best I can do in characters, it should be to the right of temp, and above the +4 on pressure history graph)

From #5 on setup on page 3 the .))) looks to blink if you do not have the optional rain sensor, ifyou have the rain sensor it is not meant to blink.

If it is the Temp that is blinking press the set button and something else should blink
