Finally a STW issued.

The radar looks good but it either breaks off to the south, goes across the bay and re-energizes in Gippsland or travells North east and ends up in the far east of the state. It seems to evaporate when it comes into contact with the metro area or it it just something wrong with the radar?

We've had a couple of showers develop right over head here.

We had 49mm in Corryong overnight where I stayed for four days, till midday today. At home now and we have had 29mm so far. Very, very muggy!!!

Not a sigle drop of rain here... Since last night.

Its still 31C here with a Dp of 18C in a northerly wind.

After a top temp of 32.4C today, it's now dropped down to 24.8C. Humidity is rising again too and I have the odd passing 3 second shower.

It is typical, though. Having just spent the past 5 and a bit weeks on the southern Mornington Peninsula, the day after I get home they have a thunderstorm. Dad even reports a flang!! LOL. Missed out Christmas day here as I was down there, and missed out today down there, as I was here!

We have had 30mm up til lunch time, with the odd passing shower. No thunderstorms yet. Was in Benalla this afternoon, looking very black in the East.

Well so much for the predicted rainfall in our area.
I was in Melbourne city until almost 2pm, drove home expecting to see
some wet stuff, but nothing ! and it doesn't look as though there is anything on the way either. Neighbours have been working there garden all
day and said we had "a few drops". Big deal.

What happened to the 15 to 20 ml predicted ? Guess it went over us and to the east.

It is strange Katyer but you can probably expect 5mm from these showers IF they hit.

Just as long as it rains over the catchments. It was all sizzle and no sausage! It might have looked good from Eltham but nothing happened.

Gone dry here temp is still 28C and DP down to 6C !

2.0mm at home overnight and nothing today, bit short of the 10mm I'd predicted/hoped for here at home. Still a chance of another 1-3mm BETWEEN now and middle of tomorrow as wind goes more southerly and cooler uppers arrive.

Big low, pressure got to 990.0hpa here at home and now on the rise although still very low. Got to 33 for a high. The gradual passage of the low has created a situation where the front was more like a dry line. We have gone from humid N wind to gusty much drier W wind, it will gradually go SW and S and cool though. Often this can be a good set up for some serious storms in the humid air but whilst they are widespread , well showers are, I wonder if super warm uppers suppressed it a little. Lots of coverage out east atm but hardly lit up like a Christmas tree. Just a thought not sure if it is the case though. In any event, cumulative totals for NE , high country of the east are going to be pretty good. Hotham over 70mm so far.

So for the sake of my tank and garden hope at least for a few mm but even the cold uppers will go by overnight which is not ideal for shower creation. Sigh......

A few pages back Coldsnap was discussing dry ground, interesting to see article on this site showing it was warmer, drier , sunnier and windier than normal. That cannot have helped but gee after so many really wet months thought it would have held on longer..
