A mighty fine glorious morning here. Lots of misty drizzle and low temps... a warm wet winter's day... love it.
The barometer is on a steady rise after an overnight low of 995.3hPa. Current obs are Temp 19ºC, DP 19ºC and RH 96%. We have a nice stiff breeze from the W-WSW... if that would drop to near 0km/h, it'd be perfection.

This is about as exciting as it got around my location...
A little horseshoe vortex trying to mirror the moon in the top right... (iPhone snap only)
Interesting that it appeared along a seabreeze convergence line that I was soaring my glider in yesterday afternoon... there was so much lift that it was almost an effort to get down, was a little too high for my location so I will not post any photos here, you never know who may be looking!
I have video of the cells that appeared out near Brinkworth/Blyth area but after the 20 minute flight they had all but disappeared... seems that convergence line stretched a long way North of me. Cant wait to get some nice Full HD footage of a nice Cb.. a very different perspective!
they are both awesome helen, great structure in the first and cant beat star shots....is that the lights of Adelaide in the distance or another town to the south?
showery weather here now...and cold. Wouldnt mind is last week's weather was permanently in place for summer....

Currently windy here. No showers I've heard anyway at all today/last night. Back to comfortable temperatures that aren't hot and muggy.

Just a few pics from yesterday. The first few from Beetaloo Valley (anyone up this way would recognise the water tanks at Hughes Gap) and the last two looking northward from about Caltowie at sundown. Glad you managed a lightning shot Helen. I couldn't buy one

Great shots STL feels like I am at the spot watching them...that is where I would like to be anyway! few light showers here today, 0.6mm to 9am, and another 0.6mm since 9am. Cold enough for a jumper early on!

"from today...notice the vid is titled buildup..."
Good timelapses *jr* - showing us what the naked eye cannot We see a layer of air in each view which flows fairly smoothly but within it there is very vigorous convection. And rapid condensation and evaporation as Markus pointed out in his recent time lapse of an afternoon cumulus field.

Nice photos everyone! STL, I like that backend cumulonimbus, a decent updraught! I would have chase to the backend there and see if there something interesting at the backend of storm like if you can find a rotation based or so. Hope we get another storms again sometimes but for now we are in really stable condition with mild days. So it looks like we will have to wait till next week or two for next activity to happen.
Not sure if what you captured was the same thing but here's what Nath thought it was -

I am hoping none were damaged by intense downdraught. Visibility was quite bad there cos the dust was plenty enough to be kicked off into the air. Maybe I should go have a look and assess there see if anything are damaged or not. (It is next to train crossing and Albert Park railway station).
