agreed kymm, some much louder rumbles. I wonder if the radar actually picks everything up, as I have read in the Cardwell to Bowen Theads they often have trouble with the townsville radar and its accuracy.

Another small cell passing over.

On a different topic, does anyone know what the talk is all about in the paper with regards to sunwater closing the dam??? Apparently I missed something!

sun water are supposedly erecting gates into the entrance to the rec area at the dam, and they are going to be shut at 7pm everyday, and apparently they are already enforcing this asking everyone to leave. As you can see in the paper there are people who are not happy. This is something they are doing statewide at all dams owned by sun water. People are hoping the council might step in, but there's not much they can do.

I can see some value in that at certain times of the year, but during summer when it stay lighter for longer a later time would surely be in everyone's best interests.
The Dam is about the only real major recreational water venue in Emerald.

Heya Everyone,
Been watching the weather with you guys closely since i still get the ewns warnings for out there ( been too lazy to get onto the website and change it ). Also keeping a close eye on the river rises. Stay safe and cross fingers that you only get enough to water the lawns and not the houses.

we are up to 60mm now and still have light showers for now. Wish it had done this today when we could see it. I have about an inch of water over the back lawn because the ground is already so wet.

Nice to see you on here again DeniseEm.

How much rain have you Emerald guys got?? I dont take much notice of BOM Rainfall cause ours is always wrong smirk

116mm at Glenora thats a nice result. 70 at Avocet. Looking at the rainfalls u can see where the centre of the storm went through. You guys look like you have more on the way from the North also.
