SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
for FLASH FLOODING
For people in parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Herbert and
Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields,
Central West, Channel Country, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite
Belt Forecast Districts.

Issued at 1:38 pm Tuesday, 31 January 2012.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce very heavy rainfall and flash
flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be
affected include Proserpine, Bowen, Roma, Longreach, Isisford and Barcaldine.

Emergency Management Queensland advises that people should:
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

The next warning is due to be issued by 4:40 pm.

Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's
website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1300 659 219 end_of_the_skype_highlighting. The Bureau and Emergency
Management Queensland would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

Did they occur somewhere I don't know about to start with?? :)To be no longer occuring, means they occurred in the first place, and sure as [censored] they didn't occur here
