Please keep posting them Iluvrain. It's good to see them in the thread in context with what everyone is saying is happening in the real world.

Official Annandale NYLEX 1000 Rain Guage Reading 31/01/2012 = 11mm

What does it mean when livio says the monsoon trough crosses the coast tomorrow around the Townsville area does this mean the rain is going to be mainly north and south of the trough, is that correct? or is the best rain where the trough is???? hope whatever it is we get max rain would love a day where we get smashed. Been to bloody hot at work.

There is some good inland rain/storms is this associated with the trough???

Need somone with knowledge to clarify this for me as i am a weather noob

11mm so far today.

The monsoon trough likes to play with us here in Townsville and on occasions it does bring some decent rainfalls.
While at other times you would swear that the BoM reports it over or near us just to play with our minds because we don't see a drop.

Evening everyone.

Curious O we up here would be happy with 1.5mm at the moment.

We are getting decent falls within 60km west, south, north, and bugger it, east, but nothing here. Lucky to get past 50mm for January....very disappointing really.

However thems the breaks, perhaps we may see something in early March, because where this low is setting up in the GOC we will get nothing to brag about, and as it moves east it will drag all the instability with it, leaving us high and dry for Feb.

If I'm proven wrong I will gladly eat humble pie.
