Bummer hey, looks like you'll be there for a bit longer.

Was right, most of the rain did go around our place only 29mm here, yet 47mm at Copperload and 69mm at my dads place down the road. Glad we got something though, place really needs the rain atm, garden was looking sad.

Yeah we don't mind really. If it ain't meant to be it won't be and if it is it will.

Awesome line of storms through southern Queensland earlier.

Another nice little formation off the coast. This one is heading in from a slightly more easterly direction. Will it stay intact and make it to us?

If it does I'd expect similar to yesterday with an nice assisting lift off the ranges towards Yarrabah. We shall get a better indication in a couple of hours I guess.

radar starting to look a little better for an overnight sprinkle. FNQ1, I noticed the drizzle too before and nothing being picked up on the radar.

I just don't want to water the garden tomorrow.

oh dear its February and we are talking about drizzle !
Possible rain event early next week 'may' give our average back.
How many times has the Bruce hwy been cut this wet season, between Cairns and Townsville ?

Only once I think, and briefly - around Ingham.

We came within a whisker of finally being right under a storm last night, but as has been the way all week we missed out. Got a consolation 2.5mm of rain instead.

The forecasts for the next few days are more promising, but they have been wrong all month so I'm not getting my hopes up for some decent rain.

So far this has been a "ho hum" season. Here's hoping things ramp up a bit come March. Sydney is seeing all the good stuff atm. We watched a brilliant storm come over from the south east of Bondi on Sunday night. Parts of the cbd and inner city suburbs were flooded and the lightning was amaaaaazing! Back in Cairns now and wondering whats happened to our tropical summer,or lack of it except the humidity, :-)

That's the problem with Cairns. If we don't get the MT it is hot.

This doesn't surprise me.

Expect a late TC or two off Nth west WA also. Heaps of warm water pooling right down their coastline. It's not too late for the CS either.

Looks like some showers streaming in from the SE... could be a wet night for some areas but bone dry for others! I hope it builds - I don't like dry bones! smile

Can't see it on the radar, but it's bucketing down here ATM. One of those times where you can't hear the tv! Love it.

Still raining here. Greatly needed freshen up for the garden and has taken the edge off the temperature.

18mm+ so far out of that shower. Still slightly raining and looks like another blob heading in soon. poke

So jealous of the totals! Haha. The massive downpours here yield about 0.9mm in most cases, what is that, 1 drop back in Cairns?? grin
