It seems when they predict next to nothing, we get a lot and when they predict something good we get nothing.
Eg tonight, showers and storms vs last night .
* They* - Weatherzone's "percentage chance of" thingo.

So much for forecasts, the BOM were talking about "Moderate to Heavy falls" for Rocky 24 hrs ago. Wrong! Here is a tip for the BOM, Rocky never gets "Moderate to Heavy falls" , those words should never apear on a Rocky forecast EVER. Unless there is a Cyclone about to make landfall. But we all know cyclones never come here. So BOM never use Mod to Heav terms again, it just makes you look stupid.

Yesterday evening here it was spitting, and then around 5.15am this morning it rained and it was "moderate to heavy" however it must have been localised/isolated as the official rain gauge in Yeppoon says just 1mm.

Raining now here, radar showing it raining in the northen suburbs and southern suburbs but not actually in the actual town where they measure the rain ! Absolutely pouring now, radar showing it clear in town ! Rainwater tank now overflowing into garden.... thank goodness the ground is sandy here .

I just had a look on BOM rainfall in the last 24 hours and it has Rocky with -1mm, that is strange.

Here is a photo of all the water in the sideyard this morning. Should add that it is sandy soil, so it is all gone now (the water) and also the gaps in the grass are because we got the irrigation put in . http://s165.photobucket.com/albums/u55/vbarnao/?action=view¤t=P1010201.jpg

Fingers crossed next time it rains, that it rains in town where they measure it. 54mm needs to fall before the month is up to get the average. I guess it is possible. Tomorrow it says the rain will mainly be inland, but I guess we will have to wait and see , as we all know how accurate forecasts can be in this part of Australia.

These falls are very lumpy ... we had 43mm here at Glenlee yesterday afternoon while Rockhampton (airport at least) had virtually nothing. Usually, its the other way around ...

Constant showers coming off the sea here today. At the moment quite a big difference between Rocky and Yeppoon.
Rocky has an app temp of 29 degrees with Yeppoon on 22.6 degrees.
Very windy and gusty here today, overcast (though not cold ! - quite pleasant).
13.6mmso far - I wonder if the rain is being blown away from the gauge in town with the wind gusts.
