Nasty line of storms out West headed for Roma. Wonder if they're going to make there way to SE QLD by the end of the day.

Last thing they need out that way at the moment.

Impressive line of storms considering its only 9am. You would expect the outflow from these storms to result in further storms ahead of the trough line now throughout the day.

Can only hope somthing can make it to the coast somewhere ? I see activity from the same line down south off the nsw central coast.
Is there much favourable conditions around the NE NSW areas for this evening,
ie, instability, shear, temps etc ? ?

Just thought It was worth a mention that EC is progging quite a lot of precip (50-60mm accumulated) over the Gatton/Toowoomba (Western SEQ/Eastern Downs) area from late this afternoon till early tomorrow morning. This is a little odd for EC. 50-60mm might not seem like much but you have to remember that the models generally underestimate convective rainfall, this indicates to me the potential for something a little more organized and slow moving to form potentially significant (100mm>) for the affected region. Just something to keep your eyes out for. Has only been thrown out in the latest run so confidence in the forecast CAN NOT be said to be strong but entirely possible.

All Access models are also going for some big isolated storm dumps as well for inland SE QLD for tonight... but in different locations to one another. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

I see a few storms popping up on the radar.
Most of them seem to be heading towards the Toowoomba area, This has happened many times before and the storms just die off before Toowoomba...

redwest, I'm sure Warwick will see some stormage, and possibly get as far as western Ipswich, but I think it'll die in the bum before getting to Brisbane. Hence my saying I think it'll be a fizzer for Brisbane.

Seems consistent with the SE Coast district forecast.

"Scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms about the western ranges and inland parts. Elsewhere, mainly fine though with some isolated showers. Light to moderate SE to NE winds. "

From that I would guess the most Brisbane/Gold/Sunshine Coast will see is some showers from the remnants of these storms once they die on the ranges.

I tell you what it is bloody hot and muggy enough for some beauty storms to form! Wouldn't mind a nice storm actually, haven't had a decent one over the top of me in what must be years!

Edit: NE of Charleville is exploding, loving it! And a nice band forming/moving East smile

Looks like it's going to be a cracker of an afternoon here and what's even better is we've all scored the afternoon off work due to a power outage this morning!

They need to watch the rainfall rates for those storms approaching Toowoomba. Flash flooding has to be a possibility.
