A developing upper trough looks like handing SE QLD a bit of a stormy week from this Monday onwards.

From tomorrow and through next week we should noticably see the heat and humidity start to ramp up again.. with temperatures getting up into the mid 30's around Ipswich and possibly higher further west.

Storms are a low risk on Monday due to what looks like a strong capping inversion but from Tuesday through until about Thursday we should have a much better chance of getting a storm due to the approaching upper trough and weakening of the inversion.

At this stage, Tuesday looks to be the best chance of seeing the most widespread storm action. The picture below shows the Lifted Index forecast for 4pm on Tuesday..with the darkest blue shadings highlighting the areas forecast to have the deepest instability.

hope so..... been too long since we last had a good storm here

I didnt think I would say this but I want the rain back! So hot and humid at the moment

i like the look of the forecast this week, showers and storms wednesday,saturday & sunday with temps around 30C each day im hoping we'll see classic afternoon severe storm setups since this season has been a big let down!! also EC is showing a rain event after this new week, but too far out to speculate on.

The setup is not quite ideal, SE winds should keep the temperature subdued and dew points (for this time of year) are not great - around 18 - 20.

Another problem is temperatures above 25,000ft are quite warm meaning storm tops will be about 27,000ft or so.

To me, Tuesday is the best pick, but out on the ranges past Dalby.

Potentially... next weekend early next week could be very interesting with a upper level low moving across NSW/QLD - just have to wait as see.

Moisture Depth (mixing) is the problem today, should start to moisten up from late tonight and throughout tomorrow for some stormies Tuesday afternoon with thundery rain possibly sticking around overnight persisting into Wednesday morning. This may hinder temps and development of storms on Wednesday afternoon but we will just have to wait and see.

Can see towers going up towards the south.

Looks to be a thundery shower to the sw from here at viccy point..

I doubt we will see anything today, tomorrow is our best chance of any storm activity...

Though I could be proven wrong in the next few hours if the clouds get organized more

Hey yeah I wrote that on South Brisbane Storms last Friday or something when I thought tomorrow was looking ok.. It still does I reckon but moreso for the ranges west of Brisbane because the shear's a bit slack. Still a chance for Brisbane tho' maybe if we're lucky? But the way it looks now Wednesday could be the best day.

The heat is shocking today and a storm would be really reallllly nice..

hoping we will se something near warwick. building but then collapsing. id be glad just to see some rain.....

Humid and sunny day here. Smoky Cape was 29.0/23.2 at 3pm. A very light to light E'ly breeze here at the moment.

As expected, storms and showers on the MNC are sticking to the ranges today. Slight chance of a storm here tomorrow but around the ranges look like the place to be once again tomorrow.

Got a bit of a shock to see the radar that a few storms popped up around Warwick! ...

Would love to see some night time lightning activity to test out this Cannon 600D

Last storm to hit here was in October. how lame is that.

Very warm and Humid night very unconformable!!

I reckon we might get some Morning storms rolling in... It just has that feeling...
