this one is of the approach of the storm (13/feb/2012) viewed from victoria pt. sorry for the repeat postings but i cant work out how to post them all as one, hope you enjoy, cheers joe.
i have re-posted this video of the approaching storm on 12 Feb 12 at Mudgeeraba, as it did not embed correctly in the original post. hopefully this time!
Some amazing photography there. I don't suppose it would be worthwhile for those of us that don't mind, sharing some of the settings used to get our photo's?
Hey Lani, I will post my settings if that helps, if I use photoshop it's mainly to stitch pano's. I use Lightroom and use the grad to bring up exposure in the foreground, I also use clarity, contrast and saturation if I need it. I'm still learning photoshop. It's awesome

Lots of filters via adobe photoshop i'm guessing
You can carry filters as well, saves using photoshop. Most storm images only need one type of filter anyways and you can easily calculate the stop needed for correct exposure.
I have a grad filter, stil haven't mastered it yet, it's something I need to invest time in. I would much rather get the shot right than rely on post editing. But I guess there I always going to be some element of editing

Most SLR cameras will have onboard filters which are preset for either landscape, portrate modes ect, landscape balances the blues & greens, portrate balances the skin tones etc. You can also manipulate the onbord filters selectively, ei, colours and intensity of colours, Toning strengths etc ! In saying this, Bought grad filters, neutral density filters etc are more advantages if you do your homework, Plenty of different types, strengths, adjusting camera settings to suit ect ? ?
