It still looks pretty damn good Tarks, if you look at the GFS precip charts from 10am - 4pm you'll see a widespread build up of storm activity during the afternoon, aided by a weak SE change and an upper trough. I'd have to say at this point it looks MUCH better down there for Tuesday than it does for us up here as we'll be stuck with a crappy shear profile once again (hope it changes though).

Monday was giving me worries about moisture for the past few runs, with winds going over dry areas. Not to mention the shear profile wasn't crash hot, with things barely breaking 30kn above 800.

Tuesday looks promising, very promising in fact. Provided the saturation at all levels keeps clear skies. The cap is breakable provided heating gets going, and shear is much more satisfactory. Past few 00/12 runs have held this pattern to some degree but we shall see this time tomorrow what the go is closer to GZ.

And out to everyone, please keep the extremist views to a minimum, if not killing them alltogether. Many people outside the confines of this great community read over our comments and often take them as gospel. Keeping these threads clean, controlled, and most of all to the point would be greatly appreciated.

Keep it classy WZ

Waiting game at the moment. Things haven't changed too much in the forecasts. Monday will be Northern NSW and Tuesday the action moves into SE QLD.

I think it's worth mentioning, the CAPE shown (default) on the BSCH is surface-based CAPE. GFS has mixed-layer CAPE of 2000-2200 J/kg. This is because the 3000 + J/kg CAPE is based on a very thin slick of dew points in the low 20's. I would take the MLCAPE as a better measure of instability in this case.

Do we have a slight chance for any late storm activity today?

The only thing that worries me a little is that GFS have been underestimating the surface temp & DP a bit down here in the NR. 30.3 @ 14:30 vs GFS 26.9

Tuesday if we get a clear morning with decent heating we could be in for decent to severe storms given the shear profile.

Quite grey and a few rumbles to our west on the GC hinterland. Cells on BOM now moving N near Canungra, with a black centre on the radar. A few towers going up.

Not to mention 3 more cells are starting to develop along the border line, could be a hit and miss situation here with the small size that they are but if they do hit i suspect that they will pack a punch.

unusual to see such a small cell produce a black core.

It certainly is a compact little cell - and definitely looks to be on a mission smile Shame there is not more around to bring some rain and cooler temps - it is just so hot!
