not happy indeed, while melbourne played hard in poor conditions, and good on em, it was essendons lack of heart and inability to play wet weather footy that lost us the game. 2-9 at half time, followed by several dropped and bombed chances right in front of goal meant we allowed them to stay in touch.

lions upset the eagles this afternoon aswell. is no a 3 way tie up top with the pies winning today too.

Swans should be in top 4 aswell. Will be next week as they will beat Essendon. Swans is a danger team at the moment, even with Goodes out!?

sydney have lost 3 of their last 5, the two wins they have had were against no15 western bulldogs and no16 melbourne.
hardly setting the world on fire since goode's injury.
but after the bombers poor loss last night, it should be a ripper game on saturday night.

sorry Teck, and sorry Crows, forgot they had snuck up into 3rd!

Bombers are either going to smash Sydney, or their wheels are going to fall off like last year.

Goodes is coming back next week. It has been 3-4 weeks. This will help to fire the Swans up and creep back into top 4 with Crows.

EDIT: Swans is currently highest P/A at the moment.

Doesn't matter, played Melbourne, Dogs, GWS... Swans will make the finals but not the top four.

geeze, what a turn up this round has been! Carlton, Eagles and the Dons, all getting beaten by bottom 8 teams! I must say that it's been the most intriguing season thus far in many a year.

In terms of Melbourne, Essendon did enough to win but couldn't kick straight, 6-16 is terrible in any game. Taking nothing away from Melb, their endeavour in the last 10 mins blew our resolve apart. My poor partner had to go upstairs and shut the door as i was throwing a lot of verbal angst at the tv..... funny how passionate one can get about a game:)

two weeks in a row now, just cant deal with these heart stoppers! another less than 1 goal loss to the bombers, out 3rd for for the season.

swans played great footy all night, while essendon were just like last week, slow, poor options. kicked 2.15 at 3qtr time and were about 50points behind,
we finally clicked and got to within 4 points twice, the game ended with dempsey 52m out from goal, he went to play on as the siren sounded and the ump called game over.
so close, so so close yet again. great to see us come back like that, but we dominated inside 50's, contested possesions but like the melbourne game just useless. according to the stats, we are the first team in recorded history to loose a game with 70+ inside 50's.

still totally fuming that Davey was give 3 weeks for his hit on saturday night. honestly, everything hard about our game is being taken out, and the game is going soft. seriously, charged with negligent contact, high contact and high impact. now players cant tell what another player is going to do in the heat of the moment, davey's on real problem is the rising of the elbow after the hit. but anyone who has played sport knows your bring in your arm to protect your body as part of a natural instinct. just gob smacks me you can get 3 weeks for it just cause the guy was injured.
http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/a/Davey-accepts-two-match-ban/9411

meanwhile the chairman of the match review panel says that franklin didnt get charged and suspended for his sling tackle because the player didnt hit the ground hard avoiding injury.
while geelong player Hunt intentially steps on a players hand and he gets let off.
arrghhhhh......

I hear ya Mick, its getting ridiculous atm, and i thought Daveys contact was fair and reasonable, he just executed it well, i reckn the swans player would admit that!. I am baffled with the other decisions, esp Franklins. Walker did the same thing and got two weeks but as you said its because Stewarts head didnt hit the ground.. WTH? Really, i dont think that should matter as the intention is still there and anyone watching that game saw only 20 minutes earlier that Franklin swung his elbow at Hartlett and had he connected, it would have been a broken jaw and a five week holiday. The MRP need a good hard look at themselves! mad

bombers 2nd win at Subi in 10years last night, the other was a elim final 4years ago, great to be getting a road win, as our away record is just pathetic. a very important win aswell coming off two very close losses. keeps us in the top 4 for now, but more importantly, give us a 2game break on 7th place.

seasons is just too close to make an GF call, too many teams in the mix. west coast, adelaide, hawthorn, at times essendon aswell as sydney and west coast.
seems the other teams are cutting the mustard at the moment. though carlton and geelong have the capabilities too.
