DaveM Weatherzone Addict Registered: 21/05/2001 Loc: Bathurst NSW Australia	I've heard many times how beautiful Turkey is - those pictures do nothing to make me doubt that idea. The mountains behind Alanya look pretty tall.

UK Steve Weatherzone Addict Registered: 5/05/2006 Loc: Birmingham, England	Those mountains in the pictures of Alanya are the Taurus mountains. I'm not sure how high the mountains in the pictures are, but some peaks in the mountain range are as high as 3,700m. I was told that snow does fall on those mountains pictured in winter. The source of the Manavgat river is in the Taurus mountains, so even in summer the water is cool (not that it stopped some people from diving off the boat to swim in it lol)
