Since the boys down south have a thread, I thought it was timely to fire the opening salvo for league.

Being a Dragons fan, I think this season will be a dreaded 'rebuilding' one for us. Will Newcastle pull through under Wayne Bennett? Will the Tigers finally deliver? Will Queensland win yet again?

First game is Thursday 1st March, predictably, Dragons v Knights @ Newcastle.

Although I'm really enjoying this ODI series currently, it's nice to know the footy season is just around the corner! Hoping for a better season from my GC Titans this year after a dismal 2011 season.

Wonder if we'll have the WZ Tipping comp again this year?

Queensland had better not win this year. Not much of a comp if you just keep winning. My prediction NSW by 1 game this year and I'm a Queenslander. Lol Besides there isn't enough room on the XXXX cans for XXXXXX's.

Cowboys Vs Souths in teh quarter finals.

I don't care who wins the Grand Final so long as it isn't the Bronko's.

If you said %50 to %50 chance for Cowboys winning the games. In this point it would be difficult for them making to the top 8 according to the statistics of chances in the league.....

I'm a bulldogs fan but after seeing Daniel Mortimer play against us last weekend and the tigers tonight I think he will do big things this year

Dragons beat Souths in charity shield match last night. Under new coach it seems much better than Bennett. Definitely on fire!

LOL, we usually lose that one. The Charity Shield is just that, an exhibition game- offers no predictive power for the season ahead.

Glad to see Manly get smashed in the World Club Challenge in the UK this weekend smile.

just to advise, for those who have joined the tipping comp. there will be 2 joker rounds this season, they have already been preselected. Double points for those two rounds!
also, an extra point for those who tip a perfect 8.
good luck!!

Dragons beat Knights by golden goal. 15-14 clinical win. Very tough game. May be one of best this year. Certainly top four looking for both of them this year.

Cowboys failed to score a point last night.

Looks good for another year of getting flogged by everyone. Again.

Cowboys so woeful. Looks like bottom 8 team to me like Eels which appears to be a wooden spooners for me.

Dan you are doing very well so far, a fluke perhaps? poke You choose the Dragons, Dave WX choose the Knights. His loss poke
