Beat me to it RD was just going to create the March one.
Now that rainfall observations for February are official over, I've recorded 471.6 mm for the month. Not bad at all. Bringing my current YTD to 765mm.

Didn't quiet get enough rain to make it to 600mm for my month to date. Got 43mm yesterday and last night wich gives me a total 581mm for February and my YTD is 889.5mm. Looks like we might start march of with some good rain falls if this trough or possible weak low pushes on to the coast by the weekend.

records that were set during Feb at my little piece of paradise are as follows:
total rain for month - 653.5mm wettest day 24th - 199.5mm highest wind speed 13km/h 3rd Feb highest minimum - 26.4 @ 9.24am on 18th Feb Highest hpa - 1015 @ 9.24am on 18th Feb Lowest hpa - 997.3 @ 2.29am 3rd Feb lowest humidity - 52% on 10th Feb
and now I'm looking forward to a wet March - well fingers crossed anyway.

Yeah the 30 day S.O.I. has now stabilised and will rise gradually over the coming days and weeks. Though after this wet season I don’t expect to see any sustained highly positive figures for at least 3 or more years. Hope I'm wrong! Received 49.5mm for the 24hrs to 9am making today the 6th consecutive day above 25mm. Here’s the figures: 29th = 49.5mm 28th = 28.8mm 27th = 50.4mm 26th = 82.8mm 25th = 73.4mm 24th = 26.2mm Incidentally, the 82.8mm on Sunday was my highest daily rainfall since 2nd April 2011. February total ended up at 408.9mm, and Year-to-Date 604.8mm. So I’m 100mm+ up on this time last year.

Ended the month with 423.4mm for a YTD of 638.6. Not too shabby. I hope March lives up to it's promise & brings a lot more rain with it.

Morning all! Are we expecting this low in the coral sea to bring some significant rain to Mackay as it crosses the coast?

Morning all! Are we expecting this low in the coral sea to bring some significant rain to Mackay as it crosses the coast? I think it is more likely to be a trough rather than a actual weak low. As it approaches the coast we can expect an increase in instability leading to more frequent shower and storm activity. Personally I do not think it will bring significant rain but rather widespread showers and scattered storms. I would expect totals around the region around the 10-25mm, obviously areas that get under a storm will recieved higher totals. Just my thoughts.

Firepac.
I wouldnt think like that mate. I have a feeling where in for more action like we did last weekend. Even though weatherzone is going for lighter falls. I can remember that last weekend was suppose to be 10-20mmls last Sunday and we got over 160mm. i wouldnt take munch notice of weatherzone predications.

I hope you are right and that I have underestimated the rainfall. I haven't looked at or based my prediction on weatherzone it is purely my own analysis based on current model guidance and my own interpretaion of the data.

Hi everyone, started the first day if march of with19mm which I hope is a sign of more good rain to come. The forecast does look good for late in the weekend, just hope that low or trough doesn't go to far south. It would be perfect it crossed the coast around bowen or the Whitsundays. We should all see some good rainfalls if that happens.
