All the rain has now ventured to the north of us, ciao, it was lovely while it lasted..
Now to see what the next low may produce..
Had a giggle at the BOM site, there is a severe thunderstorm warning issued for Ingham in particular, for very heavy rain, flash local flooding etc..
It was issued at 1.40pm....

12hrs earlier would have been a lot more handy LOL

By that time, the rain had moved on....would of been on the mark if it were issued at 9am...

Thought we'd try and get to my appointment in Ingham this afternoon, but got to the Seymour R. to find water lapping at the sides of the road, torrential rain and an incoming tide. Knew that it would be touch and go whether we could get home or not so we turned around. Pleasant afternoon for a drive :-(

There was water pouring over the road in quite a few spots on the range with large sections of the road surface badly damaged. Wouldn't like to be doing it in a small vehicle.

The Bruce Highway has been closed to all vehicles at Francis Creek south of Ingham due to flooding. The Department of Main Roads will review the closure at 9am Thursday morning, however police may open the highway sooner if safe. Flood waters were still rising at 6:15pm Wednesday night.

Ha!. My dogs live inside when we are home. That is what I call spoit. I reckon I should send them down to ive with you for a week to show them how real dogs live. Maybe then they would appreciate what they have got a little more. grin

Actually, they are really spoiled dogs and mostly live inside (complete with their own corner lounge suite in the lounge room and the airconditioning on. I'm trying to turn them back into dogs but failing miserably.

Only 2mms of rain today and the electronic sign outside Woodlands is showing the highway closed to Ingham.

Just looking at the radar, it's showing a light to moderate cell south of mt Stuart on the 512 but there's absolutely nothing there on the 128 or 256. Hmm.

I recorded driving through the floods south of Ingham while they were letting trucks and 4WDs through on my ipod.
I'll see if I can youtube it tomorrow.
They told regular cars to turn back and that the road would close within an hour, that was back at about 16:30 Wednesday.

What a day! 300mm in 6 hrs in some places. Today's event paralleled that of the rain that came with cyclone Ellie in 09. Local flooding in areas that iI've never seen before ( as opposed to river flooding). Townsville rd in front of BP is still under, Log creek and a number of streets in that area behind Coles are still flooded. Like I said, areas that are usually only affected by river flooding went under today. And now outside we have moon and stars.... Pity my camera is not working st the moment, great picture opportunity down down with the moon reflecting on the still floodwaters over the road...

** watch out for Victoria mills rainfall report tomorrow. I think it will be the best of the lot.
