Here is the transcript to Burnsies rant on the weather...love Telstra TBox... ''Well, would you beleive the southern media are at it again...more unprofessional claptrap and what they portray at breakfast television. What am I talking about? Now presenters forcast this morning...Did you se it? 200km an hour winds forcast today for North Queensland. No cyclone mind you nor any cyclone warning current. Imagine the repercussions on national television if I forcast 200km an hour winds for Sydney or Melbourne... Now Queensland deserves and demands better. Give us the factual information, not the non-sensical gobbldy-gook transmitted out of Sydney. Now what do you think? OK Burnsey, get off your soapbox... Righto, lets get on with the fairdinkum material...
Gotta love Burnsey, my other half and I have had a good laugh quite a number of times at Burnsey over the last few years.
Bayview rainfall for 24 hours till 7am this morning 122mm. Total of 346 7am Saturday till 7am this morning. Rainfall 7am today till 7.34 this evening 14mm...and no 200km per hour winds!
Btw, have been lurking here since I found this site when Ului went through Arlie in March 2010. I have posted a couple of times under different guises (forgot passwords etc). Enjoy reading all your posts, though do miss Things' frequent contributions. I will try to contribute a bit more now.

As the native indians of the Klondike region of Yukon Territory would say: Thron Duick (hammer water). Althoght they were talking about a river I shall refer to the down pour we are having on the northern beaches at the moment.

Heard it yesterday Moonlight and thought to myself, either you(the ABC presenter) are ignorant in reading a simple Tropical Cyclone Advice, or you (the presenter again) just want to dramatise the situation.
good on you cyclone...will watch that clip again and again for next few days. My other half is in Brissy til Friday...she will love this when she comes back to town.

Popped out to check the guage in the two second break from rain earlier.... 85mm since 7am this morning. Still bucketing here. Fantastic. I was outside and saw the lightening so wasn't surprised by the big crack of thunder, not that it could be heard over the rain anyway.

Just emptied another 83mm out of the guage, so that now makes 208mm since 8am and it's still coming down. I think we need a bigger rain gauge...
