Same with Roseworthy, 18.1 was the max yesterday. There are probably other stations too.

I'm sure there would be more press about it if not for events elsewhere.

Not quite sure why they haven't done separate warnings here???
It jumps all over the place!!

Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology
South Australia Regional Office
TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST

SEVERE WEATHER WARNING

for FLASH FLOODING and DAMAGING WINDS

For people in the
North East Pastoral,
Kangaroo Island and parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges districts.

Issued at 6:04 pm Thursday, 1 March 2012.
There are two separate phenomena currently affecting the State as shown on the accompanying map. Flash flooding is expected in the North East Pastoral with possible damaging winds with thunderstorms in the far northeast.
Damaging winds are expected for Kangaroo Island and the Fleurieu Peninsula this evening.

High moisture levels combined with an upper level trough continues to generate areas of very heavy rain and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral district. The upper trough and heavy rain will persist about the North East Pastoral, gradually easing over the weekend.
Some areas have already received 150 to 200 mm in the last three days and further rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are expected through to Saturday, with possible local falls over 80 mm, which may lead to flash flooding. Locations which may be affected include Leigh Creek, Arkaroola, Oodnadatta, Marla, and Moomba.
Thunderstorms currently in the far northeast may also produce damaging wind gusts.

Strong to gale force southeasterly winds are expected about Kangaroo Island and the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Damaging winds averaging 50 to 70 km/h with gusts in excess of 90 km/h can be expected in the warning area over the next several hours.
Locations which may be affected include Cape Willoughby, Cape Jervis and Sellicks Hill.

Significant rainfall totals reported for the 24 hours to 9am on Thursday include 83 mm at Maynards Well and 81 mm at Leigh Creek. Totals for the 4 days to 9am Thursday include 213 mm at Maynards Well, 204 mm at Arkaroola and 200 mm at Leigh Creek.

Mean wind speeds of 72 km/h and gusts to 93 km/h have been recorded at Cape Willoughby this afternoon. Sellicks Hill has also recorded mean wind speeds of 70 km/h.

Dreadful warning...just make them two sep ones! Always used to!!!

Certainly will be windy though down over the southern coasts and ranges, with SEVERE gusts likely, already 50knots at Sellicks and I wouldn't rule out 55-60knots at Sellicks or Cape Willoughby as the new ridge squeezes the isobars in against the stationary trough plus the usual slight enhancement of downslope gully winds on the western face of the ranges. Rough as guts on the south coast tonight and tomorrow.

TS cool

Blew like a banshee here last night, winds constantly gusting over 25 knots! Highest 30 knots! Heard a transformer blow about 6.15 am, power tripped out, then kicked back on! Some people might be missing out on there toast this morning!

I see the cloud-band is coming down again as it moves SSW into the upper low to the west, so more rain periods could well be on the cards for down here by Saturday tommorow morning and showers for Sunday-Monday

Think I'm more inclined to go with BOM on this one. Patchy rain and showers east of the Ranges early. Isolated showers for the rest of us, mainly afternoon and evening. Better chance of showers and storms on EP and along sth YP and KI, and then the South East later....

As this is a new system, perhaps a new thread could be started?

I wouldn't rule out rain periods for Adelaide, plenty of moisture still in the uppers and given the high shear anything is possible...

Tomorrow evening looking good at this stage for storms across Southern Fleurieu possibly even Southern suburbs(HERE!)
