A couple of periods of rain this evening so far, no storm, still light steady rain atm here at Inverloch, still mild humid and warm out, so expect more rain overnight?

Had a shower or two this morning as well. Two nice late arvo's in a row here, went swimming both days.

Thought I heard thunder again. Then realized it was those darn winery bins being dropped.

Raining quite heavily now with thunder and lightning almost continuous. Seems to be moving a lot more quickly than it was so I don't expect it to last very long, but nice while it is here.

Pretty solid rain today in the NE or at least NE higher terrain. Not good.

Video from last nights storm - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGSu69XxDe4

Will post a full picture set tonight when I've had time to process them. Need to remove water droplets from a few.

Rain still back-building on radar. End result - rain totals in some areas could be much more than anticipated. We already have 36mm in the gauge from last night till now and possibly more to come.We only got 1mm till previously. Most posters got this right back on the 11th March at the start of this thread!!! What a team!

Indeed, bit of a scattered mess at the moment. But it keeps it nice and cool, so no complaints here smile

Is that huge line of cloud moving over from the West the cold front?

In my limited knowledge I would say so, with some decent in-feed from the NW monsoon/cyclone.

I thought we were in for a pounding not 15 minutes ago when I was driving home west along the Calder freeway, then turned into Calder Park Drive, watching these huge black fascinating clouds, and they were literally (I thought ) over my house.
Couldn't wait to check the radar and sure enough an activity of red was heading toward us.

Now ....nothing ....those menacing black clouds appear to have moved fast heading north east ??? and not a drop from them. Looking at the radar I expected a downpour, but it must have only just clipped us.

I copped a heavy shower, 10 minutes, no thunder, saw a funny looking cloud that sort've looked liked a funnel.

Pleased to report my radar skills are not as inept as I thought.
We have rain...so obviously what I thought I saw headed toward us was correct.
Not too heavy but it is a steady downpour. Can't see much more behind this lot though
for us. Seems to be heading to Melbourne now.
