Have not heard any thunder for a while but it has cooled down a lot in the past 20 minutes or so

When it went through us at Jimboomba it dropped 12.6mm in 30 mins at max rain rate of 68.3mm, with the worst in the first 5 mins. It was an interesting drive to pick the son up from school, but when I got the camera out for the trip back home it had stopped raining more or less, and the water had mainly drained off other than a few places that normally have the pools of water in the rain had them.
Edit: wind gusted up to 33.1 kph
Edited by RoadkillNZ (30/03/2012 16:35) Edit Reason: Added Wind info

It's been pretty humid all week. I've been in some massive downpours over the last few days but they have been very isolated .

Sitting under a shower from the sky here in Toowoomba at the moment. Looked at the radar and not much else around, just a blob here.

rather suprising storm here, I didn't see it coming! Started as a sprinkle, moving to heavy rain, then wind, and then thunder! Got a fair bit of rain, AP has recorded 2ml, I have 35ml in our gauge.

yes swamp-lady, its amazing the difference between the airport and in town measurements. I would guess we got over 40 here where I am. I didnt get my gauge out in time (but will check with my next door neighbours in the morning). Reports on facebook of flash flooding in the usual places.
Someone reported that Rangeville got "about 70ml"

Well, my donut hole certainly lived up to its reputation. Just as that storm (or rather, it's remains) approached, the rain decided to head east. Total today: 0mm.
