Have to laugh, OPSM sponsor the umpires. I think all the spec places have jumped on the band wagon, sponsoring umpires and refs.

OMG!! what a game tonight. im shaking!! aghhh.
north had a shot at goal after the final siren to win but just missed it. bombers win by 2points.
essendon had all the play up to early in the 4th, 25points up but so many missed chances by essendon while north kicked 4 straight. essendon had 2 goals disallowed by the goal review, radar commentators said it should have been allowed as the replay was inconclusive.
still not a fan of these replays. happy to let the umps decide in the spare of the moment.
damn what a game that was. so wish it was on tv.

I have got Austar Mick, so I did watch it. It was a nail bitter and we were lucky to get the points. We didnt win the game North lost it. But a win is a win in the end.

So glad it is footy season grin

two massive games last night.
we let north in late CO, i really was worried in the last 10minutes, when listening on the net you have no idea of the time left, how the run of play is, but north just dominated. loosing our sub in the first few minutes almost cost us the game id say. first real game of the season, a close one and we were down to 3 men, one of them with a badly damaged shoulder that kept playing.

Yeh was a ripper game Mick as was the freo cats game. My team the power got up and i was very pleased with a number of players but esp Wingard. Certain we are back on the way up now but a year or two before we threaten the top teams i feel..

Swans has been best so far this season by 270%. Looks like premiership race on again since 2005 and 2006.

7 out of 9 for the first round, North and Melbourne costing me. Beats my traditional score of 2 in Round 1. crazy I am sure thats just around the corner though...

and sydney played a brand new team in the competition. not a bench mark to set as premiership contenders at all.
if you look closely at the results, its teams like port adelaide and west coast eagles that had the good wins over the weekend, and look like improving over the year.

Lol, Sydney beat a bunch of kids. Bit early to be calling them premiership contenders.

Yeh West Coast look very dangerous thats for sure, some big firing forwards to try and keep under check with Kennedy perhaps Buddy's biggest threat for the goalkicking award this year!!
Somehow scored 8 out of 9 for the tips. Think i will retire now crazy
Also first time for a long time that both the previous years grand finalists have been beaten in the opening round of the following season.

Hello Fellow AFL Fans:

AAAggghhhh, just realized that the start of AFL season has already begun. Kinda glad I didn't listen to the Essendon game as I'd have been pulling my hair out (what little I have left of it) towards the end of the game. Hope the Mighty Bombers can improve over last year & pull out some surprise wins. Hoping ESPN will televise some AFL matches in the US again this year.

Start of AFL Season, just ended College Basketball season (UKentucky are Champions), midway through College Baseball season & start of Major League Baseball season=Heaven for a Sports-Lover like me...It don't get no better than this...

GO AFL--GO Bombers~~~Wet Snow
I often wonder how one would go in the Footy Comp by simply picking winners by flipping a coin.

David, the AFL has moved from ESPN in the USA to 'Fox Soccer Plus'
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/130641/default.aspx

Hope you are able to get that channel... otherwise check out the link on the bottom of that page (although it costs also)

LOL I got 8 and I tipped Brisbane for some crazy reason...with the margin on 1st game of the round that makes for an epic fail.
