bakery......heeeeellloooo! Being an SA expat means that a good bakery in my area is like a zappa light to flying insect....... Canberra is a hard hard place to find a decent well priced bakery like you'll find in SA. Can't wait.

I'll def check out the street for autumn colours too.

I haven't look at it in detail just yet, but i would assume the 3 sisters during sunrise might be good, esp if there's some fog in the valley floor below it. The water falls is another prime target for me.... but i need to research this a little further.... i've heard people say that it's worth while following the streams beyond the touristy areas to find hidden water falls and rock pools.

Wentworth Falls sits in a very large horseshoe bowl - very picturesque spot.

Grand Canyon (Govetts Leap) etc is a good spot - Blizz as a local would know better though than me.

I got my accommodation booked for Blackheath as well for 2 nights, i'm looking to arrive sometime after lunch on Friday. So, what's the name of this bakery you speak of lol?

Yep that's the one, well worth a visit.

There's also a good deli/coffee/sandwich shop around the corner opposit the old movie theatre too - also a place we like.

Well, i was doing a little research on flickr and i like the looks of Leura Falls to kick things off early on sat morning:)

Sublime Point is nice too early in the AM. You get a shot right along the valley with the fog rolling along like a sea.

Leura falls/cascades is a top spot. Heaps of nice lil hidden gems a hop skip and a jump over a few of the fences, well not so hidden if you look hard enough. Most the tourists are fullbore to the main lookout spots and miss the best bits in their haste katoomba casades would be nice wit ha little bit of water over them and at the right time of day, it was mid afternoon when last there and the light was short of poo..

yer i as thinking of being at the cascades quite early, just before dawn. That way i only have to deal with ambient light. That said, if it's cloudy then that won't be a problem.

The rain we are getting up here at the moment should make for some awesome shots of the various falls around the place.

I was thinking the same Mick. Perhaps a bit of fog around with winds abating too in the valleys. I'm pretty much sorted now, Leura Cascades + the lookout on sat morning, and will work out something for sunday morning.

Looks like I will be seeing customers Sat Arvo now. Going to struggle to get there. Not happy Jan.
