Yep what a ripper indeed!! ..I forgot to empty my rain guage from yesterday but roughly about 5mm from that cell here in a very short time...

Some very nice structured cells forming now which should continue well into the night with storms still a possibility anytime from now onwards but more likely late evening-early morning when instability moves through, Southern suburbs still the best spot to be smile

Completely dry up here in Kapunda.

I see BOM now forecasting small hail as well tomorrow.... first real winter blast by the looks.

Well this is our first "cold front" for the year, and its far from great but this will do! looks convective and unstable which is great. you guys SD WN, Liz and Thorpey keep us up to date this initial line might have some good wind gusts in it so watch out!

For tomorrow:

Looks like Adelaide will miss out quite a lot from this system coming up by the look on GFS because of most of stuff seems to go for SE of SA around Mt Gambier and around border area.

And more information: I don't like the taste of horribly dry in surface DP tmw but there are still plenty of moisture in 850hPa and 700hPa. Most of strongest TT and LI seems to go for SE of SA with best part of 850hPa lower temperature and lower thickness as well. So overall, Adelaide is looking to be going for a few showers, chance of hail in far southern suburbs.

I hope tonight might be our chance in Adelaide at least as GFS looks great after 9:30pm till 3:30am for Adelaide so here's hoping. But then tmw I will be too busy look at skies cos of all day in tafe.

Nathan.

Geez this line is looking allright guys! Even saw a distant flash as well! Even weirder there's clear skies all ahead and that line is only 60km away! weird front indeed. Must be a very distinct line of clouds.

Just saw a flash to the South towards KI

*From past experiences, this should fire nicely once it hits land/the hills soon

I have a feeling me won't be seeing any more lightning tonight... it all seems to be fading away, oh well nothing like falling asleep to heavy showers and the thought of school the next day !

030am - brief shower here and I can see various showers on the radar from Cleve to the Lower SE, but the nearest lightning on the WZ tracker is about 270 km south of Adelaide.
