PD, the 5c was around 11.30-12noon - limit of reading on the car thermometer is just single degrees + they always seem a little out compared to a proper weather station reading. Some light spits of precipitation but as you said, pretty dry by the time we headed out to Mt Bindo.

Had enough of this cold, at least the horrible cold wind finally gave up late this afternoon. It feels weird to see all the bright happy flowers in the garden with this kind of winter cold, leaves on the trees, it's all wrong! Hope it now warms back up.

Missed the front coming in, was in a plane taking off as it rolled in with storms ahead of it, we went right around them but copped a bit coming into Melbourne, really nasty turbulence as we cleared the clouds over the mountains before reaching Melbourne airport.

Anyway, here's the front arriving in Canberra as a dirty great storm as we left.

Nice shot there ant. One thing this change did do was knock the majority of leaves off the deciduous trees (that had turned) in one day. I left for work and the main yellow tree (quite sizeable elm of some sort) was fully opaque - got home and I could see right through it with only scattered leaves left. Noticed the same with quite a few trees around home.

The cold here seems to have accelerated the yellowing/turning of the various leaves. I'm not seeing a lot on the ground yet. today was chalk and cheese, hot sun, no wind! no chill in the air. It was like the cold front never happened.
