Is it just me or does this activity seem to be more intense in the south east and running out of steam for us in the West ?

Ant, it really has fizzled out for us, little bit of drizzle unless it fires up again from down south.

Creeks flooded around us - look more like rivers.
Absolutely bucketing here.
Old fashioned winters night, just need lightning now smile

8.7mm here at home since this time last night, a max of only 12.9 degrees today as well after a low of 7.5 - a rather nippy day.

Looking at the Scoresby weather station observations it recieved 22.4 mm between 6 and 7 PM and now has 40 mm since 9 AM, absolutely amazing. Certainly it was getting very dry so the rain will be welcomed by many.

Outer Eastern burbs and and West Gippy have done well out of this event. Haven't checked the gauge since 1600hrs which gave me an event total of 40mm, so after the last couple of hours, 50mm is a monty.

Low seemed to have pushed further E today than the BOM had originally anticipated, thus the Flood Watches issued for Geelong rivers and streams yesterday and no watches for Gippsland until this morning. Nevertheless a good drop.

Left Inverloch for Maffra at 5pm in very heavy consistent rain all the way to Morwell. Car slipping about in the sloppy conditions ... loved it. Rain stopped by Traralgon. Dry here at Maffra but 8 odd mm today acc. To family. 9c so will check tomorrow.

18mm at 9AM on Monday, curtesy of the squall line of severe thunderstorms that smashed through Melbourne's southeast on Sunday arvo smile

11.6mm at 9AM today, and it's been raining on-and-off for much of the day, not sure how much so far but I'll know by 9AM tomorrow... probably be in the order of 20-30mm smile

One lovely 'bay-effect' stream of convective showers showing up on radar atm in a line from Carrum-Frankston north/northeast to Marysville and Eildon. Seems to be just passing to the west of the Dandenong Ranges for the most part. Currently 9.7C outside, peaked at barely 12C today eek

Edit: forgot to mention that I heard one lone rumble of thunder this morning! grin

Does not seem to have stopped all day over the south eastern burbs.
Any reports of flooding ? I hope not.
I was right earlier when I said it had fizzled out for my area.

No Huntsman and not quite as much rain here (if there was a huntsman my gauge would be overflowing crazy), 6.7mm since 7pm yesterday most of which has fallen in the last 4 hours. Total since and including Sunday morning storm is 32.4mm. Half of that from the two Sunday storms.

Hey Bulos...we've got a five-legged huntsman who has seemed to be 'following' me around the house when I move our temporary heater. Trying to think of a name for him grin
Anyway, the drenching rain we've received here has been terrific, except for the traffic probs and flooding we've also had.
Rain guage wrecked again, thanks to a couple of 'resident' crows this time, so relying on Scoresby weather station's stats for rainfall amount.
