I am camping at Proserpine show and it has been drizzling rain here since about 4pm. Not the best camping weather but at least it isn't very cold.

Hi nooty well I hope he has a tent. I am showing cattle with school kids but they only have their swags, so we have put up a tarp for them to camp under. It has eased off a bit now. Hoping for sunny weather tomorrow, hate packing up in the rain.

Hi Roxy, my son is with MCC and has no tent. Hope you're with his group! Looks like this pesky drizzly stuff might hang about for a bit longer yet. Hope you stay dry and if my son is in your group, I hope he's behaving. smile
Cheers

It was a damp drizzly night here in Prossie with just under 12mm. I live just around the corner from the showgrounds so I hope everyone camping there managed to find some cover and stay dry!

Morning all, 14mm here for last 24 hours. Handy bit of rain for the garden, not very handy for leaving car window halfway down overnight.....doh!

The BOM's forecast of 18 to 21 for today looks like a bit of a FAIL, they must have forgotten to factor in the change we had yesterday, currently at 2am it is 14.3 in Mackay and 11.9 here.

For today, OCF is forecasting a max of 20 (I find it to always be high during similar events). GFS is forecasting only 13 for a maximum, while EC seems to be going for temps around 17 to 18.

GFS is just a tad off as well PVW, as it's 14.6 here at the moment.

I've had 15.8mm since the rain started & it's been a nice, soaking rain that the gardens are loving. So far MTD is 51mm & YTD 1658.5mm.

If no other agreement between BOM/BSES can be arranged for a person to do this work then BOM will be coming to collect their equipment very soon I believe

Sad but true.

Was suprised there was no comment on this event lol

We joke about it each year but the rain couldn't have timed the Prossy show any better laugh we still braved it and kids had a good time. I've recorded 14.8mm of nothing more than drizzle over the last 2 days.

Closing any weather station is not good for us weather watchers or for comparing the data with other stations and its own history. Hope they sort it out or convert to an automatic station.

Yayyy, our sun is now heading back to the southern hemisphere again so our days will start to get longer.

Offshore powerboat racing in Mackay was a mess. Freezing cold, slight mist and ocean rough was all big swells.

Bummer for them 2 years running

Half listening (so don't quote me) to Livio tonight and thought he said it wasn't going to clear till Friday and something about a chance of rain.

Not enjoying this yucky weather! 22mm over the last 4 days.
