Snakes really are beautiful creatures. Don't mind holding them myself. Held a stunning olive python once - had the most exquisite face. Terrific clear photo of this lovely one. Cheers. Also Blizzard, these creatures are majestic too. The lion looked a bit lonely Just needed a cuddle - yeh that would be a great idea on a 'starve' day Though I cringed a bit when you mentioned the lions have a starve day - don't they need to fed daily? Felt sorry for him.

I had a chat to the park workers re the starve day, apparently it keeps them much healthier as its a natural part of their existence. All of the animals looked very healthy at this zoo. Its a pretty big zoo for the amount of animals it has. I have heaps more vids and as time permits I will try and put a few more up.

I know this is not a photograph exactly for this forum section, but it is an image of a tiger I drew some time ago. She is done in pastel. I'm on the look out at the moment for the odd image/pic which may be used as a subject base for my illustration. Want to photograph some more subjects myself, but need a better camera. Has anyone got an idea, which I'm sure you have of a good camera, but not expensive? Cheers [img:left] By duckweathervic at 2012-04-28[/img]

It more simulates wild conditions where the big cats will generally gorge themselves and then have several days without eating. Their bodies get quite ill if they don't have this seperation as the protein becomes excessive.

P.s. Those kangaroos are really lovely and the other shots are too Thank you. I am not always so fond of our mob of roos. Times like when the BIG bucks come calling after the does and stand up at you when you are trying to work in the paddocks. Nor when they play chicken with you when towing the float. For some reason horses don't like you having to stand on the brakes. It has resulted in a lessening of the roo population before.

Rising full moon over Mt Stuart, Townsville. Picture taken from the driveway of Rotary International House at James Cook University. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hph...523307492_o.jpgHi Matt, your image was far too large than the limit prescribed in the rules. If you still want to show the full version of any image, just use a link please. Cheers.

Not a particularly good photo, but at least this Taipan is real!! And you were how close to photograph it??!! I would be crapping myself! I don't mind snakes - even like them I suppose - but I wouldn't want to hang around for a picture of a taipan thats for sure!

I was about 2 1/2M away and was lying down at the time which made it more ummmm 'interesting'. It was one that I had previously caught from someone's home (I am a licensed snake catcher) and this was it's release photo.! NB. Don't try this at home lol
