Its not just wind now, I have 7/8 of low cloud as well and temp is back up to +0.3 after being -0.4 earlier.

1.6/-0.9 here with clear skies and that constant wind. My 1.5c minimum prediction was probably a tad pessimistic.

I had a similar experience to you, Blizz. I was carting soil around the yard until the afternoon Wallabies Test afforded me an early mark, and I could have sworn the forecast max of 8° had been surpassed but sure enough we'd had a maximum of 7.9° with a temperature spike just before 2pm.

The wind here has eased markedly in the past 30 minutes or so. I think it's going to be marginal as to whether things fully stabilise overnight so there could be a few ups and downs. Currently 3.6/0.8 on my VP2 and 3.1/0.2 down at the airport.

-9.7 at Salisbury plains, wonder what RON got?. By the look of the other readings at least -8 in Armidale I think.

Yeah, Andrew. I was raking up chook poo and doing general yard work prior to lunch so maybe that kept me a bit warmer than normal. Good to see the lads get up in that match. I have a mate at tennis that played for Sydney Uni and did some rep games. My solicitor in Lithgow was a Sydney Union 1st grade ref for a long time.

Nice frost here. I am surprised we got to -1C with the amount of wind around. My deck is an ice skating rink, did a Peter Garrett dance move when slipping on it this morning in the k-mart ugg boots.

Just back from a walk- biggest frost I've seen in Walcha in 13 years. -10.6 and a coating of rime for good measure. Air full of diamond dust.

Not as cold as yesterday morning- -10.4 at 6:10 and with humidity down and no fog , just a good frost rather than spectacular. -9.6 at Salisbury Plains.

I can't believe how mild Bathurst has been compared to May - absolutely bizarre. Too much cloud cover overnight in June plus Easterly quadrant breezes keeping temps up. Saturday morning was about +2 Sunday a tad warmer.

Yesterday was interesting - took a drive from Bathurst to Albury and back (about 940 return) and it was low cloud all the way and once we got to Gundagai region it was misty drizzly and that continued until we got BACK to gundagai. It would have been snowing at Falls & Hotham (my sone was going to Falls for the season - hence the drive). Temps between 7 and 11 all the way there.

Coming back we had 2 degrees from around Carcoar (around 6.30pm) but we still woke to a mile moring in Bx. I had ice on the cars at 7.30 last night but none this morning.

Also met HOMER briefly on Saturday here in Bx - always good to put a face to a name. Hope the weekend finished well Homer. smile

That is a beauty Peter, no frost here at all, not car not grass not anywhere. Yet as soon as I left the front gate, there was frost on the edges of the tar all the way into lithgow.

Wow, certainly don't miss temperatures like that.
Probably be some burst water pipes around Armidale and parts of the Northern Arctic Tablelands this morning?
The -11ºC minimum there back in June 2010 froze my internal hot water pipe, which then cracked as it defrosted later that morning, sending its warm watery goodness through parts of my kitchen/laundry wall and seeping out onto the surrounding floor. Fun. smile
Hate to think what I may have been confronted with if I was out of the house working a 9 to 5 job that day, or away on holidays.

Yeah Peter, Glen Innes Airport was -10 this morning, and its the opposite situation to Armidale. Glen Innes town was -5, the same as Armidale Airport while Armidale City was -9.

It was down to -5.3C at Glen Innes as of 9.35pm tonight, but satpics show cloud coming across, so probably won't reach the extremes of the previous 2 mornings. The minimum temps have been rather impressive!

Currently -6.4 in Walcha, now under cloud should be a slow warm up.
