Nice line now... some burbs might get a millimetre or so.

Now updated forecast...shower or two and chance of thunderstorms...AND lightning on the lightning tracker.

Yeah... I was aware that a cold front was approaching, and probably bring the odd shower to the Melbourne... wasn't expecting much but some of those incoming showers look quite heavy, maybe a slim chance of a thunderstorm developing amongst them as they move through the Melbourne area?

Surprise Thunderstorm?

Not that much of a surprise but a thunderstorm nonetheless. Ground almost covered by the very big drops falling.

EDIT: On a streak, was in Sydney for the day yesterday and caught a weak storm in the evening so two days in a row with thunder for me - yay!

Definitely looks like my area of the Dandenong Ranges will be in for a thunderstorm in about 20-30 minutes time, a nice treat to wind down the 2011-2012 Storm Season

Rotten luck... the storm has lost it's ability to generate lightning, now it's just showers coming through

Very warm night out at Pakenham. Temp was 19c at 6am. Car was saying 20c and even hit 21c on the way to work but not sure how accurate that is.

Oh god storms just start to fire around Melbourne and the updated forecast says just isolated showers this evening? I hope they aren't wrong for a THIRD night in a row.

Sounding marginal at best; where's it all coming from?

After an overcast 25C day here, a couple of weak little storms swept in over Wonthaggi from the W a bit after 5pm for an hour. Inverloch scored some decent rain out of it though, circa 10mm going by the squishy front lawn. Still mild outside even now.
