Tell him we miss his input RWMD. Take some warm clothes, you will need them. Went for a blood test this morning, I didn't study much so not sure how well I did. But there was the remains of a fog still lingering along Ross River at 0745 this morning. My wife told me it took her nearly 40 minutes to get to work at the airport yesterday morning due to the fog at 3.30am. 16.8C minimum at my place last night and thats from my weather station. 12C - Really? Might happen around July but not yet.

morning all, too windy last night for the temp to get that low. but its not unusual for the temps to get in the low teens in may, often get the first real deep low over the tasman this time of year but some cold air northwards and drop our temps for a few days. just hasnt been that right set up yet!
looking further ahead, both the main models forecasting a fairly moderate rainfall event around the 22-24th May, as usual expect the 50mm+ rainfall totals to drop off as the week goes by, but the good news is that there are two models forecasting it. ext gfs even backs up with another one the following week.

15.6C was all we could manage here. Didn't notice it due to sleeping in. Need to get one of those old fashioned alarm clocks for my teenager - the ones that wake the whole suburb.

15.4C here as well, very close to Cranbrook's records. Yes the wind helped to let the temps stay above 15C most of the night, if not, then it would drop to 12C easily.
Beautiful day yet again, 27C max. That seem low for a while!

Went up to Mt Stuart this afternoon. Its VERY refreshingly cool up there! Must be around 18C at the time. Great view of Townsville City, Castle Hill, Port of Townsville, Ross River and Magnetic Island.

I think you must be colour blind matthew and I don't mean that in anyway except to state the obvious. Everyone of your photos has been so far out of wack by normal colour saturation standards that it seems that what you think is normal isn't actually what we normally see.
More smoke out my way this arvo. Not a smidgen of rain though.

yesterday there was a fire that was lit by kids at rasmussen and reports of another small one in the upper ross this afternoon. likely they are still smouldering SBT. 18C outside at the moment, certainly feels like the coldest night of the year so far, can feel the cold air creeping in through the windows and louvres. had to wear the jacket on my scooter both to and from work this evening. first time for the year.

Morning all! Another cool one here this morning - 10.7C @ 0500
Is it just me, or does life seem to get busier and busier every year?? I just don't feel like I have enough time for anything these days...

GFS is giving us some amazing falls of rain next week, heavy rain for 3 days from the 22nd May. a very deep onshore flow, more NE than E, dip in the bars right on the coastline and then a trough system moving in from the west to follow with more moderate rainfall. access not that interested now, but still maintains that deep onshore flow. while EC goes for more easterly onshore flow too. cant imagine GFS forecast to come off, but would be nice to see a few rainy days in May.

Good oh Mick. I could do with 50 to 100mms but not getting too excited as they always roll back savagely on their predictions closer to the actual date.
