Great stuff Shane. It certainly will be, with fantastic venues to boot! I can't wait to see storm footage on the big screen on the FRiday evening, the first time it's ever been organised this way!

*bump* Going to be a fantastic weekend!!!! After attending my first AGM last year, I highly recommend getting involved and coming along to this event; if you've been to AGM's in the past, this one is anticipated to be one of the best ever! And if you've never been, but have wondered what it's all about; then bows your chance to come along; meet some of the great personalities we have in WZ, ASWA and the wider weather community; see some amazing storm footage from this season in the big screen; and listen to some great presentations!! Only 100 sleeps to go!!!!!

I haven't missed one since joining in 2005, but I have to wait until I find out the date of my Daughter's Ballet Concert before committing to anything just yet. Family must come first....

I'm still unsure also. There are just way too many things up in the air at home at the moment...

Well I''m excited about the fact that AGM is not far away!! It is a pleasure to be putting it on and an honour to be working with great friends. This year will not disappoint!!! As you may know the Friday is being held at a cinema... Imagine your footage up on a screen that is the size of a small house!! Then the Saturday we have the main event being held at a paradise that is home to dolphins and penguins...SEAWORLD! . The cost for coming is very good value for what one gets! So come along. Show your face and make some friends....OR re-meet old ones. I look forward to seeing you all there.... Bryan

Hello budding weather cinematographers!
This is just a reminder that this year for the very first time we will be screening the friday night video presentations on the big screen! This is a very unique opportunity to have your storm footage displayed in a world class cinema in front of an enthusiastic audience. Even if you can't make this year's conference at the Gold Coast on the 3-5th of August, this is a fabulous way to still be apart of the action by sharing your weather experiences. Please carefully read the details below and if you have any questions regarding file formats etc, then please find Shane Ekerbicer's email below.
Important date - deadline for submission: 20th July Friday video presentations:
For all Event Cinema presentations, all content must be able to successfully play on a standard, domestic DVD player. Because of this requirement, any video that you wish to play on the night can be sent to Shane Ekerbicer so that he can convert it to DVD or Bluray to ensure everything works without a hitch. If you want to burn your own DVD with your video, please test your content on a basic DVD player beforehand and please make sure that your content is completely edited and ready to play with a menu system. This is extremely important. Your Video/DVD needs be be sent to Shane Ekerbicer at least 2 weeks prior to the event so that we can have it tested at Event Cinemas prior to the event. Unfortunately we will not be able to accept any video that is brought in on the night due to the requirements of Event Cinemas. Please email Shane Ekerbicer for postal details if you are interesting in seeing your footage on the big screen: shanee@ozchasers.com

Hey thomo,
the only deal we could get is the following:
Standard set up - $159 (room only) gets 25% off entry to Sea World, Wet & Wild and Movie World.
ASWA package - $238 per room per night (based on 2 guests), includes unlimited entry to Sea World for duration of stay (Sea World entry is normally $80.00 per adult, per day)
The Gold Coast is better suited to group bookings IMO. If you can get a hold of other people whop are going, then try and get yourself a self serviced apartment. Many people have done this in the past and it has proven to be cheaper.

Hmm, perhaps I shouldn't attend the Friday night For those looking for accommodation, there's HEAPS of options over the Gold Coast. Jump onto www.wotif.com.au or your favourite hotel site and just fish around for some good deals. You can even avoid the booking fee a lot of the times just by going to the hotel website direct (once you've found one) and book on their site for free. Sometimes you can even ring them up and haggle for a good deal, they'd rather some one in a room than an empty room, don't be shy! Should be a few people with cars around, so I'm sure you can see if some one will give you a lift around! (Especially getting back to your hotel). It really is a worthwhile weekend, and definitely recommend that people make the effort to come along! The cost includes most of your meals too (other than breakfast), so it's really quite reasonable. AC
