woohoo looks like a real Cold Spell maybe on the way then.

So long as it only last 2 to 3 days maximimum I wil be happy.

Too many moth holes in my Ugh Boots to last any longer than that though.

Looks like temperate line is heading towards CQ coast on Sunday morning around 300mb. GFS does show it. Looks set to be refreshingly cool days much earlier this time compared to previous years. Looks like coldest day would be 9C-24C on Monday next week by the looks.

However OCF does not agreed how cool it will be:
http://ozforecast.com.au/cgi-bin/weather.cgi?station=Townsville.QLD&radar

Other news, looks like incredible bumper snow season ahead down in the alps and that. May be best ski season for many years. Since 80's? This may be hint of approaching el nino.

Getting pretty black out there now and I don't mean because the sun is going down. Nice grey clouds, arthritis is playing up again like merry hell might be in for some rain tonight.

Yea there some consistency. WZ has it 24C, OCF has it 22C and BoM has it 25C. Quite obvious for the difference. Might have to average those out to get accurate data.

There a thread in general weather forum section about the temperatures record and forecast difference. I believe it one of the concerns about the range of forecasted temperatures between different models.

I don't have any idea what you are talking about Matthew. WZ has it at 25C, BoM 25c and OCF 25.6C.

Today's ec rainfall chart shows a very intense area of rainfall occurring in our area overnight Thursday into Friday. Possibly 50mm+ falls in 12 hours.

Wow I'm getting excited now. Let's watch the models come on board.

Latest run shows the same with 50-100 Fallin over Townsville in 12 hours. If this happens it may be a record may.

The cloud band on Thursday will be amazing, with the trough connecting to a low on Victoria, with a moisture depth coming all the way from Indonesia.

June 2007 anyone???

Well looks like more rain over than being wintry by judging the OCF and BoM forecasts. Friday now have maximum of 24C. But mins is now warmer than previously which is hovering around 12C and up.

Hmm, certainly has the potential to create some big falls. here's our video from SWXC

Warm and moist air advection at 850/925 coupled with sharp height falls at 500 = potential for wow smile
