Hi all.
I know this has probably already been asked somewhere, but what does Delta-T mean on a latest weather observations page on the BOM. I've been thinking about it for ages but never thought to ask anyone.

Delta-T shows the difference between the Dry-Bulb and Wet-Bulb Temperatures.
For example, at Mackay Airport currently the temperature (or Dry-Bulb temperature) is 10.8 degrees. The Delta-T is 1.2 degrees, showing that the Wet-Bulb temperature is 1.2 degrees below the actual Temperature, so is currently 9.6 degrees.

The Delta-T is important in Agriculture as it shows farmers when is/is not a good time to spray chemicals on crops/weeds, etc. I recall the ideal spraying conditions are when the Delta-T is between 2 and 8, anything below and it's too humid, anything above and it's too dry.
