Hello all. We are organising an informal ASWA and Weatherzone catch-up for those interested on Saturday 16th June. 12.30pm for Lunch Challa Gardens Hotel 337 Torrens Road, West Croydon $8.50 Lunch specials, incl soup, salad, and vege bar. Special children’s menu, including a free soft drink & ice cream (7 and under) and free games to keep them occupied while you enjoy your meal. Please RSVP directly on here or to me for bookings by Thursday 14th. Some of you may know that former South Aussie ASWA member, Rowland Beardsell (Lennie), has moved back here from working at the Darwin Bureau of Meteorology. He will be starting at the Adelaide office in a few weeks, which is great news for us! So this is a chance to also catch up with him, or meet him for the first time. I'm sure he will be happy to answer any questions about his time in Darwin, and the storms up there. He may also bring some video footage to show. Also for those interested, the annual ASWA Conference details are now online. Check all the info out here: http://www.severeweather.asn.au/images/stories/agm/2012/ASWA_2012.pdf Cheers Tim.

You just pipped Kent Town Helen - their min was 2.4ºC. Since then a stratus cloud cover has either developed or arrived blocking out the sun - it's freezing inside away from my heaters - by far the coldest morning inside this year.

I noticed that Yunta temp (and the -5.1 yesterday), and breathed a sigh of relief in the fact that I'm at home in Brisbane currently. Not looking forward to going back to that ridiculously cold part of the world next week!

I'm gonna sound eager for saying this..but I can't wait for the Easterly dips in summer..and the usual December storm day. I just love those afternoon convective storms Also..I've been looking through earlier posts and where abouts is "No mans land" ?

Redbucket looks like you may be in for some interesting weather in Brisbane for the next day or two if that little low off the coast stays close enough Hopefully for your next stint at Curnamona there will be wind and/or cloud cover at night to keep the temps up. Rolling Thunder I can't remember anyone here actually corepunching a big storm in no mans land. It's usually the last role of the dice for stormchasers, late in the afternoon when they haven't found a good storm closer to home and chasing fever has well and truly taken hold and they've become desperate and even south-west Queensland seems a viable option

There's something odd about this BoM Tuesday forecast for Adelaide: "Tuesday 12 June: Summary Min 7 Max 17 Partly cloudy. Adelaide area Partly cloudy. Isolated showers about the hills and southern suburbs from the morning. Winds northeasterly 20 to 25 km/h turning northerly 15 to 25 km/h during the morning." Anyone spot what it is?

I guess its a little odd showers over hills and sth only when winds are from the north? U would expect that more from a sthly airstream. Is that what u r suggesting?

Right on TE - rather strange as the wind will be from the N-E. I'm curious to see what happens Looks like there could be gales over our ocean waters and coastal districts at times this week. Quite good timing for all those out camping or with outdoor events this long weekend - should be safely back home before the winds arrive in force. I don't think farmers with crops recently sown or yet to be sown will be happy about it though.
